Small Plastic Containers
This website presents information about small plastic containers. We hope that you find your
visit to this site useful.
Welcome to this website. Small plastic containers are ideal for storing all manner of items, from liquids to dry
goods and any non food item that needs storing. Plastic containers come in many shapes and sizes, and
there are many shapes and sizes even within the categories of small, medium, or large. This page deals
with the smaller end of the plastic container spectrum.
The most logical place to start, and where most people's mind would end up when considering uses for small plastic
containers would be food storage. Leftover foods are easily and safely stored in such containers.
Another use would be to keep small batches of homemade cookies and confections for giving as gifts or even
selling from home or in a small storefront. I know of a local Scottish fish and chips shop who sells
their homemade cookies in small flip lid plastic containers. This is a great way to sell and distribute
such items.
Leftover food storage is another forte for this size of plastics. You can go with traditional sets of
storage containers that last a long time, or resort to the supermerket disposable types like Glad or Ziploc,
which last awhile and are disposable. Gladware small bowl containers with lids are ideal for food storage and you don't have to
worry if they get stained or if you give someone something in them and they are not returned. I recommend
throwing them in the recycling when finished with them since all of these items ar totally
recyclable.
Another great idea in the smallish end of the scale are plastic shoe boxes. They can keep your shoes safe
from moisture and dust, are stackable, and will prevent the shoes from getting crushed by other items since they
hold their form.
2" stackable plastic containers are ideal for storing things like baby food or even face creams and other creamy
lotions. They are also nice for keeping condiments or some gravy or sauces for single serving packed lunches
which you heat up at work in the work kitchenette.
Sets of assorted sizes of small containers can also be purchased. These sets are perfect for having a
multitude of varying sized containers when you need to store food or anythign else in a secure snap shut
plastic enclosure.
Just be sure that anything that you intend to keep food in is food grade plastic. Food grade is most commonly
manufactured from PET/PETE or HDPE plastics, and this should be labelled underneath inside the recycling logo which
looks like arrows making up a triangle.
